Hilde Selbervik
U4 DirectorI am a contemporary historian with a keen interest in development policy and outcomes. Throughout my career, I have held various leadership positions, including serving as both Research Director and Deputy Director at the Chr. Michelsen Institute.
Previously, I was the co-director of the Development Learning Lab, where the focus is to promote greater impact on the ground through evidence-based knowledge in collaboration with development partners.
In 2022/2023, I was a member of a committee appointed by the Norwegian government to examine how Norway can contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, resulting in the report Investing in a common future.
My research interests include development assistance, aid policies, global public goods, human rights, economic and political reforms, and international aid negotiations. Education and dissemination are close to my heart. I also have a background as a teacher and educator and have previously held a position as Associate Professor at the University of Bergen.
